1
Look for daylight
Close the door and turn off the garage lights. If you can see light along the bottom or sides, your seals are worn and it's time to replace them.
2
Clear the leaves
London's tree canopy is beautiful, but leaves pile up in tracks and against sensors. Sweep the threshold and wipe the sensor lenses.
3
Lubricate, don't grease
Use a proper garage door lubricant on hinges, rollers and the spring. Heavy grease gets thick in the cold and collects grit.
4
Test auto-reverse
Lay a piece of 2x4 flat under the door and close it. It should reverse on contact. If not, call us.
5
Book a tune-up
An annual inspection catches tired springs and cables before they fail on a frozen morning.
