Two steel cables run from the bottom corners of the door up to drums on the spring bar. If one frays, slips or snaps, the door lifts unevenly, binds in the track and can come down hard.
We replace both sides together, check the drums and bottom brackets, and confirm the springs driving them are still healthy.
